Our Regionally Recognized Wood-Fired Sauna

Relax, release, and restore.

Experience our regionally recognized pristine sauna in the forest, a hand-crafted circular, cedar-lined, wood-fired sauna near our spring-fed mountain brook. Fresh mountain spring water and Eucalyptus oils are ladled over the hot lava rocks, creating circulating, medicinal steam that envelopes the bather and fills the lungs.

Alternate between the sauna, the stream, and our relaxation room to achieve the ultimate benefits of the sauna. Our sauna offers an inventive air circulating system so breathing is easy and full. Ready for deep detoxification and relaxation to begin?

The Experience

Private 1-hour appointments are available year-round on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays,  Saturdays, and Sundays based on availability.

Our current per-hour rates for private appointments are:

  • $80 for 1 - 2 guests, +$5 per additional guest

  • $10 per person for walk-ins

Advanced appointments are necessary to give the wood-fired sauna the time it needs to reach therapeutic temperatures, which is dependent upon the season and outdoor temperature. Pre-payment confirms your booking. Please contact us if you are hoping for a longer session or are booking for a large group.

Please Note: Delayed arrivals, early departures, and holiday periods are non-refundable. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours or do not keep your appointment, you will be billed for that session. Due to the nature of the Mountain and the unpredictability of weather in Maine, if we feel it is unsafe for you to join us, we will credit you for a future sauna date. We appreciate your understanding!

Nurture Through Nature’s Sauna Experience

Relax and cleanse.

Experience our spacious, inviting sauna, complete with 3 windows overlooking the surrounding forest, soft candlelight, and an inventive air circulation system allowing deep breathing in of the Eucalyptus-infused steam.

Once the sauna room reaches a therapeutic temperature of 160- 180ºF, you’re invited to settle into soothing heat in this peaceful, natural environment. Fresh mountain brook water is then ladled over the hot lava rocks, creating circulating steam that gently envelopes and detoxifies the body.

Throughout your session, fully experience sauna customs by pouring mountain brook water over your body, rinsing off the stress of the day.

Move freely in and out of the sauna to the transition room to enjoy cool water and healthy snacks, sit on the deck, or take a dip in the nearby brook.

Traditional Sauna Experience

Finnish tradition suggests that the sauna space is sacred. The conversation stays light and loving with silence during the Loïyly; when the water streams on the rocks. Begin your cleanse by sitting in the heat and steam for 10 - 20 minutes.

Once you feel your core body temperature rise (your body will tell you when it’s time), feel free to exit and rest in the transition room or outside, allowing your core temperature to decrease.

Once you have allowed the heat to settle, return to the sauna. You repeat this process as many times as feels right for you. For your final round, take a thorough rinse down/bath to complete your cleansing.

Relax in the transition room until you become dry, cool, and grounded. Breathing. Smiling.
