Mountain Brook Yurt

The Experience

Enjoy the backcountry feeling in our most remote yurt.

Retreat in our magical Mountain Brook Yurt and enjoy this sacred refuge in the forest, under a canopy of trees, and nestle into your private getaway on the slopes of Pleasant Mountain. The sights and sounds of the nearby mountain stream are truly mesmerizing.

Our mountain yurt retreat provides all the essentials and especially the opportunity to truly unplug. The Mountain Brook Yurt is accessible year-round by a rugged, sloped footpath following a 10-minute ~1000-foot climb. Make this your base for outdoor recreation and adventure, with hiking or (snowshoeing) trails right outside your yurt door, outdoor recreation, eco-adventure, and those that want to check out the surroundings in Western Maine’s lakes and mountains region or nearby Mt Washington Valley in New Hampshire.

The Yurt does not have solar power and does not have Wi-Fi.  There is no running water at your yurt; however, we do supply you with jugs of pure mountain water, and a compost toilet nearby.  There is not a bathroom in the yurt.  There is a warm shower at the top of the access road, where you can refill your jugs for drinking, cooking, and dishes.  This is about a 5-minute hike. We provide the yurt with a 2-burner propane stove for your simple cooking along with all the dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc.  You heat your yurt by wood stove for your tending and we provide ample wood for your stay.

We have a no pet policy in our Yurts.  (Harmony Eco-Cabin is pet friendly.)

  • "Clean and cozy.

The nearby brook is beautiful! Everything is clearly labeled with instructions within the yurt, very convenient to have dry firewood inside for heat and to have a double burner for cooking. Would come back!”

  • "We had the most incredible retreat at Mountain Brook Yurt!

When we arrived the yurt was clean and ready with jugs of water on hand. The property the yurt is located on is simply magical. We had a great time walking on the hiking trails and exploring the mountain brook. The yurt was indeed very private and exactly what we were looking for on this trip.”

    - Ruth C.

  • "Such an amazing space.

A weekend was much too short, but it was a fantastic introduction to living comfortably in nature. The proximity to the sounds of the brook, the sights and sounds of the trees around and above, the feel of the cozy timelessness… wonderful memories I will take down from this hill with me. Many thanks!
