Nurture Through Nature has created a donation-based yoga studio where certified yoga teachers offer quality classes in a green retreat space. Participants need only make a donation to experience excellent yoga classes, making yoga available to all people regardless of income.
Practicing on an empty stomach and not eating 2 hours before class is recommended. Dress in comfortable clothes in layers that you can easily move in. Temperature varies and is hard to regulate. Bring your own yoga mat. Yoga mats are available to rent on site for $2-first time is free. You don't have to be flexible or fit to do yoga. Just bring an open and willing mind. The yoga will do the rest.
: Since 1999, I have been teaching yoga in the Lakes Region and while leading retreats. I appreciate feeling more grounded, connected and balanced in life. Yoga has helped me to develop this way of being both on and off the mat. I enjoy movement with awareness, like a meditation in motion. Students find my classes gentle, yet deepening and invigorating. Since I have a background in sports medicine, I care about proper alignment, preventing injury, strain and stress during yoga. Mindfulness and breath awareness are a focus for each class.
: When I found yoga 8 years ago, I fell in love with it and never returned to the traditional ways of working out. Yoga became my workout and refuge all in one. I offer an environment where people feel safe and free to honor themselves, finding their own personal place using me as their guide. I keep the practice simple yet dynamic. Yoga is just breathing and movement in action. It is a way to place your mind into connecting with the body, and stepping out of the day to day. Come breathe, move and enjoy!

I have lived with chronic heart disease since a heart attack in 1997, culminating with a heart transplant in 2006. Yoga has saved my life in all ways and helped me to thrive. The Nurture Through Nature studio encourages people to practice yoga at whatever level the practitioner enjoys and feels capable of on that particular day, making it possible for me to continue my practice even when I have been very ill. Anyone can do this, guided by these fine teachers. Daily yoga practice is now a habit I simply cannot break! Deborah Daw Heffernan, author of An Arrow Though the Heart and Oprah guest

This Spring what stiffness and pain I felt while
rototilling, planting seeds and weeding in the garden. I felt one hundred years old as I slowly
trudged back to the house after only a few hours
out in the garden. I began to wonder how much
longer I could continue growing produce for the
Bridgton Farmers Market.
When I began attending Lifestyle Yoga classes on
Friday morning with Jen I began to feel my body
coming back to life. I am more flexible, have more
energy, better muscle tone and an improved attitude.
My garden is much more productive as a result and I
even have energy left over to swim and go hiking.
Now instead of wondering how many more years I will
be able to continue farming, I am able to spend more
time in the garden and am a true "garden warrior".
Thank you!!

Students practice yoga postures in gentle flow with proper alignment. There is a keen focus on breath awareness and meditation in motion. No previous yoga experience required.
This class is designed to integrate basic yoga postures with a vinyasa flow. Each class offers a dynamic fluid practice adapting to the persons who attend. You will learn new postures while deepening the ones you may already be familiar with. All levels are welcome!
A gentle morning class with gradual increase in flow. Learn a gentle practice that you may start and continue for the rest of your life. |
I am grateful for the awareness yoga continues to impart. The yoga studio at Nurture through Nature is so peaceful and quiet with only the bird songs a distraction...for us bird nerds!

The yoga classes at Nurture through Nature are the weekly gift I give myself. Yoga for me is the perfect combination of strength, balance, flexibility and mindfulness training.
I have practiced yoga for several years and the classes have always been held in large meeting rooms or aerobics areas. I had no idea how soothing it is to do yoga in a serene location with out distractions. The NTN practice space needs to be experienced; it is warm, inviting and calming, very much like the instructors. Every class I have attended has added a new insight into my yoga. There is no substitute for quality personal instruction. It is the perfect addition to my home training. It is so important to do the poses correctly to avoid injury and maximize its benefit. Each of the NTN instructors gently help and correct me so that I can deepen my yoga.
I look forward to each class.

I was drawn to Yoga when I was about 18. I saw pictures in a book and began to try the postures. I thought they were hard, and I didn’t understand the breathing thing.
So, I had to wait until I was out of college and moved to Utah to find a class and begin to practice. It was love at first try. I remember traveling to Santa Cruz with friends and being able to do yoga on a hillside meadow that March. So California! So lovely. I was hooked.
While my practice has not always been consistent, Yoga has been there for me when I need it. It always calms my agitated mind, it strengthens and helps to keep my body flexible, and connects me to my inner being. Yoga realigns my crooked self in all ways……my body, my mind and my spirit.
The location, quiet and beautiful.
The room feels as if it is perched in the boughs of a tree.
Every pose is a different visual treat.
I can really find peace in my practice at this space.
