nutzWhat The Work has done for Jen Deraspe, Facilitator of The Work™:
"I was living the life of my dreams. I had the perfect partner, work that I adored, a home like a sanctuary. From the outside, I looked free and happy. Mentally, I was a prisoner, filled with self-criticism, and I projected that onto those closest to my heart. I became alienated and didn't enjoy my work like I once did. There was no lasting sense of peace.

The Work™ found me when I was at the brink of burnout. It has given me my mind back, and, therefore my heart. I am enjoying the company I keep in the empty moments, and the sweetness found in silence. I am experiencing a Presence I never thought possible, and what it feels like to truly be with the one in front of me~ without hesitation or separation
." ~Jen

Testimonial from clients:
"Jen, Tender work today, thank you... So exciting to imagine a world where our deepest shame can be beheld by another, mirrored back, and in that moment of inquiry be delivered into a sweet, sacred, experience of unconditional love...for ourselves! Grace as oxygen." ~MLB, Michigan

"The Work™ is amazing. I was ready to not talk to my sister for a very long time. I had a lot of thoughts that were separating me from her. Jen took me through one session and it just turned everything around IN ME. My sister didn't change, but it doesn't make any difference because the thoughts and emotions of pain and hurt are gone. " ~SJW, Kansas City

"The weekend was very powerful and I feel renewed and ready to do The Work consistently, and meditate more. I meditated this morning with your meditation CD and it was very peaceful. I think I will carry it through the day." ~Lynn, Cape Elizabeth, Maine

"Thanks again for amazing weekend. It was a real gift to myself. You are a natural leader of such experiences. It is obvious that The Work is your passion. Everyone seemed to get what they needed." ~ Terri, The Work Eco-retreat, '09

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...the weekend made a significant impression on my ability to look at life.I am going to be able to...be more present. I have a feeling that The Work is something I will never let go of. I enjoyed your company and thanks for being you!" ~ Chrystal, The Work Eco-Retreat, '09

What is The Work™?
The Work™ is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question the stressful thoughts that cause all the suffering in your life. It's a way to understand what's hurting you, a way to end all your stress and suffering.

People who do The Work™ faithfully report life-changing results.
• Decreased stress: Learn how to live with less anxiety or fear.
• Improve relationships: Experience a deeper connection and intimacy with your partner, your parents, your children, your friends, and yourself.
• Reduced anger: Understand what makes you angry and resentful, and become less reactive, less often, with less intensity.
• Alleviation of depression: Find resolution, and even happiness, in situations that were once debilitating.
• Increased mental clarity: Live and work more intelligently and effectively, with integrity.
• More energy: Experience a new sense of ongoing vigor and well-being.
• More peace: Discover how to become "a lover of what is."

"The Work is called self-help, but it is far more than that: it is self-realization, and it leads to the end of suffering. As we investigate a stressful thought, we see for ourselves that it's untrue; we get to look at the cause-and-effect of it, to observe in sobering detail exactly what modes of pain and confusion result from believing it; then we get a glimpse into the empty mirror, the world beyond our story of the world, & see what our life would be like without the thought; and finally we get to experience the opposite of what we have so firmly believed. Once we deeply question a thought, it loses its power to cause us pain, & eventually it ceases even to arise."

"I don't let go of my thoughts," Katie says. "I meet them with understanding. Then they let go of me."
